The Poet
A million different words but none of them seems right
I swear I saw you sitting down there, hoping you could fly
And through the days you feel so lost, craving for the night
To come and wrap you up and turn you ‘round and ‘round
It hit me hard and made me stumble the minute you walked by
A heart so torn, a heart so fragile, how could you ever smile ?
I guess I cannot save you, not even ease your mind
Can’t make you breathe, not even for a while
But if I had a blanket made of hope and glory
I’d write your name on it and place it in your hands
So that you could respire and start a different story.
